Garage Days (DVD)
Director Alex Proyas's (THE CROW) GARAGE DAYS sheds light on the world of struggling musicians, sexual misadventure, drug experimentation, and mental instability in Sydney, Australia. Freddy (Kick Gurry) daydreams about being a rock star, but faces seemingly insurmountable problems as he tries to get his band kick-started in the DJ-saturated bars of Sydney. To make matters worse, Freddy's relationship with his bass player, Tanya (Pia Miranda), breaks down when he has a fling with Kate (Maya Strange). Kate just happens to be the girlfriend of Freddy's guitarist, Joe (Brett Stiller), who subsequently quits the band and loses his mind in the process. A lucky liaison with the manager of a big rock band nearly gives the struggling band their long-awaited big break. But as the personal problems escalate, it becomes apparent that the passion for music that brought the band members together could be the very thing that tears them apart.Proyas delivers a fast-paced comedy with a good mix of CGI-assisted trickery, a script full of human warmth and tension, and a series of fun-with-drugs interludes. The film works with themes on the perils of love and substance abuse, while the chemistry between the characters and the infectious nature of the story will have audiences rooting for the band as they attempt to make their chaotic rise to the top.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseDual SideAudio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English Dolby Surround - SpanishSide One:Widescreen - 1.85Additional Release Material: Audio Commentary - 1.
